Established by the Bahá'i communities in 1950, World Religion Day is to encourage people to talk to and listen to people from different faiths, i.e., different from their own one (
via) and at the same time celebrate similarities. It aims to foster interfaith understanding and harmony (
via) and is observed with conferences and interfaith activities (
via).
